FAQ – Adjusting the Height of the Grinding Wheel
For maximum efficiency, the Dust Muzzle should touch the work surface at the same time or slightly prior to the grinding wheel, thereby creating a face seal. This is what the final installation should look like. Note that in this photo the wheel is slightly below the skirt of the Dust Muzzle.
There are two ways to get the optimal wheel to grinding surface relationship.

Installation Instructions
Step 1
Wheels can come in many varieties and thicknesses, the most common way to adjust the height of the Dust Muzzle is to trim the upstanding fingers with a scissors.
Step 2
If not enough adjustment is available by trimming the upstanding fingers, further adjustment can be made by using the arbor rings that are provided with every Dust Muzzle Ultra. These are made from a fiberglass filled ABS plastic and are designed to go onto the arbor prior to installing the wheel. They have a 5/8 ID and each one has a different thickness ranging from .125” to .250”.
