All our cutter drums are manufactured from selected quality assured steels based on our many years experience in this field. All cutter drums are fully heat treated to become possibly the toughest cutter drums available.
Drum widths are available from 60mm – 1250mm. Cutter drums are available for all popular planing and grooving machines.

Please consider cutter / flail shafts are relatively inexpensive when compared to the price of a cutter drum assembly. As a flail shaft wears with use the diameter reduces, thereby allow movement between the cutter shaft and it's mounting hole in the cutter drum flange. The more the shaft wears the faster the hole in the cutter drum enlarges. This rapid and excessive wear rate can be mitigated by replacing cutter shafts frequently before excess wear becomes apparent. With care a replacement shaft can be fitted without disturbing the assembly of spacer washers and cutters. Simply remove both end plates from the cutter drum and gently tap through the new shaft, forcing out the old, worn cutter shaft. It sometimes help replacement if rotate the shafts as they pass through the assembly.

Specialist “Grooving” drums are available to customer’s specifications. Tubular spacers can be machined to give the required groove spacings. They are produced in high grade tool steel and then heat treated to achieve maximum resistance to wear and deliver prolonged service life. The machined spacers aid fast accurate building of cutter drums for grooving applications and also give added stability to the cutters resulting in longer life for both cutters and flail shafts. We find that once users try our machined spacers they rarely return to the old fashioned, tedious spacer washer system. Most sizes can be produced to order, please contact us for a quotation.
